Man walks into a cafe in his home town of Newstead, called Dig.
The man doesn't like this place.
The man doesn't like this place - not one bit.
It's for sale.
Good.
Maybe they'll get someone in the place who knows what they're doing.
Everything is clean and nice.
The prices are expensive.
Everything takes a long time.
The man doesn't like this place - not one bit.
He is welcomed by the staff as soon as he arrives.
They are not pushy to take his order, but are attentive to what he needs.
The menu is perfect - not too long, not too short - with enough variety to wonder, and enough the same that his option is clear.
He orders.
He looks around.
The man doesn't like this place - not one bit.
It's a beautiful old roof - the kind where you can see the effort in the beams, making sure there is enough space overhead to really resonate.
It's not finished though ...
He looks around the register.
Locals have put their art there.
Not many things.
Each thing, specially made by hand.
Cared for.
Not many things.
But each thing, different, unique, interesting.
Local.
The man picks up a card.
And a little book of poems.
The man doesn't like this place - not one bit.
He begruggingly takes the products to the counter.
And notices, there is hand made tea.
Not too much. Not too little.
A packet of it.
Especially made.
Clear, open packaging where you can see exactly what's inside.
Different ingredients - they look nice.
The staff rattle them off, not too fast, not too slow - just at the right time, at the right pace.
He doesn't understand half of them.
But sounds fancy.
It smells amazing!
And not too expensive either.
The man doesn't like this place - not one bit...
His food arrives.
It didn't take too long.
No doubt, it'll taste way too fancy to actually enjoy.
The flavours meld together.
Delicately.
Boldly.
Oh.. damn ... he really does not like this place ... not one bit.
He saves some for later.
And tries the tea.
He doesn't even like tea.
Why did he even get this?
It tastes... divine.
He'll be back there.
But still, he doesn't like the place - not one bit.
And he won't like it then either.
This is a Unified Ascent.
