In short, this is a normal Apartment Sale.

You can view the listing here:

Would you like to buy my apartment?

I’ve been here since mid-2021.

I purchased the apartment very quickly – I had been living out with a Church in Newstead, Victoria during lockdowns and had become extremely isolated from Human Contact.

I felt like we were all very sick, firstly to have accepted such an approach so generally, but also, because of the damage caused by the extent of approach itself.

I wanted to be closer to Melbourne, to people, and to be part of the recovery of Victoria.

The idea was, to spend a few weeks a month in Newstead, and a few weeks a month in Melbourne – living a country and city life, together.

The latter half of 2021 saw continued lockdowns, which probably unsettled me most of all – I finally burnt out at work and finished my contract.

Early in 2022, I lost Newstead to family politics, in the last couple of months of a decade long renovation project.

I found myself living, with a large mortgage, in a small city apartment, alone – probably the worst-case scenarios I could have imagined for myself.

Things have been bleak, socially at least.

Everything I tried to do, to connect with other people, on deeper, more meaningful levels, has not worked. My feelings of separation and isolation have increased, with multiple incidents throughout the last few years, triggering deeper levels of unease.

On the other hand, ideas have flourished, especially boosted by many different types of social engagement – both real and imagined – while extremely challenging on the surface, deeper levels of transmission were taking place.

This has culminated in these 7 news stories with me, for One and All.

With one more 8th story, by far the most significant and interesting, yet to be drafted.

This apartment, Tod, the Temple of Desire, has become an identity to me, in and of itself.

I’ve mostly been building in digital and virtual realms the last few years, all the while, Tod has been here, constantly prodding me to consider the physical – to wonder why we are all so separated from each other – to plead for new people, new energy, new life, to bring more joy into the world.

I wonder why Tod costs so much money..?

After All, we are One Human Race.

Why are we charging each other so much to Live together?

The amount that property has increased in my lifetime is simply astronomical.

This table has been produced on prompts with ChatGPT, so pretty rough, but also, pretty consistent based on other statistics I’ve witnessed with the topic:

Year

Avg Cost of Land per m²

Avg Block Size (m²)

Cost of Block

Inflation (%)

Avg Annual Wage

Cost of Land vs Income

1986

$100

500

$50,000

$22,000

2.27x

(Land: Income)

2024

$1,500

500

$750,000

~2.5x

$60,000

12.5x

(Land: Income)

That increase in Land cost is a 1,400% increase!

Meanwhile, our wages have increased just about 170% in the same period.

I don’t know… That’s like a 720% difference in income vs expense for land, in one single half-life – or it’s like a 450% increase in cost of land vs income rates.

Whatever your way of doing statistics, the difference is huge!

What do you feel about the cost of land increase over the last 40 years?

As well as reflecting on the price of property during my Time with Tod, I’ve also been reflecting on the cost of relationships.

When I was a boy, it used to be easy, there were no mobile phones, no computers – we just went to the local club when we wanted to catch up with People.

Also, there was no internet or apps dating, people met each other through social engagements, family, and friends.

I have experienced a similar feeling in the rise of the cost of land, to the rise in the cost of meeting someone, and forming an ongoing relationship. Where it seems, I need to invest like 700% more effort to make ongoing friendships than I once did!

How hard do you think it is to form a new, ongoing, trusted, friendship bond or intimate relationship?

The idea with Tod, is that we can share our Land, with each other.

We don’t need to buy land from each other – it’s our Land – together.

We were born into this Land – together.

We will die on this Land – together.

Why are we burdening each other with lifetimes of expense, at the cost of our Human Experience and Connection, so we can take something from each other, that’s already ours?

With Land, our life is like between 450%-700% harder than it was in half a lifetime and is trending worse than that! Isn’t it? How else would you do that maths?

We’ve got lots of technology – we’ve got lots of games, lots of movies, lots of entertainment, lots of stuff…

But what about living?

What about our relationships?

I extend this concept to include assets. Like a Space is an “Identity” with past, present, and future, just like us, and therefore, a Space can “own” Assets, just like us.

It’s very nice to travel to a place and stay with fully furnished land.

Online Short Term Stay Property Marketplaces are awesome for example!

But it’s very expensive, especially if you’re also paying for your own land on top.

Why would we want to take all our Things with us, when we could share with others? We ultimately let go of everything we own at the end of each Life anyway.

How many “Things” do you have, that are truly intimate and private to you alone?

I can understand many reservations about this line of consideration.

Perhaps people can’t be trusted… Perhaps other people might take some part of our identity, or might be falsely impersonating someone else, for untoward aims – perhaps they will simply be careless with our Space and Assets. To protect against this, we could use “Golden Record” identities, that both protects our own private details, while also ensuring there is authentication and authorisation with each other. Essentially enabling trust and empowering respect between Us All.

Furthermore, anyone with Land might be very nervous about their “value” as a Human Being decreasing, simply because their “Land Value” has decreased. Like their value as a Human Being has become intrinsically tied to the value of the Land they are acting as Custodian for. The concern would be, that if we decrease Land Value, we are decreasing the value of People. I accept this concern – we would need to “Value” other Things to accommodate for this change in Thinking. Perhaps, we would need to “Value Organisational Data”, “Value the Human Experience” and “Value Data Across Time” – we would need to completely reconsider the Value of Data.

Are Human Beings more valuable than Land?

I encourage you to check this out here:

I don’t have all the answers.

But I present a comprehensive view of what my property is and what it is trying to be.

Ultimately, I consider Space, and the Assets that are part of Space, a foundational principle of Existence, where our intersections between Identity, Time, and Space – our intersections of Who, Where, and When – are only ever temporary Why’s, that continue to evolve throughout All Life and All With Life.

Would you like to invest into a concept that includes Uplifting Life and the Human Experience of One and All Across Time?

Tod is an opportunity too.

Considering this has been an investment in and of itself, so thank you, I hope your experience with Life is enhanced, and I wish you well no matter how much we share.
